The second part of our biography project will be to create a slide using a Google Presentation .

Each student will have a slide in the presentation to design with important information and facts about your famous person. I will be asking you to insert a picture of your famous person and to write AT LEAST 3 interesting facts about them on the slide. You can use the information that you have already gathered on your biography report that you did with your partner.


Below you will find links to websites that will help you find information that you may want to include on your biography slide. Please remember to practice safe internet skills and only navigate to the sites that have been identified by below by Mrs. Potter. Please do not click on any ads or other links that may appear on a website. Good Luck on your journey!

Harcourt Multimedia Biographies- this is a very comprehensive site filled with information on a long list of famous people. You can find your person in two way- either click on the category list (ie- President, Writer, ect) or click on the letters at the top of the page (first letter of your person's last name).

MrNussbaum Biographies- this page will bring you to a variety of options. Scroll down the page (names are in alphabetical order) and click on the name of the person you are researching to brought to the biography page.

ESPN Top North American Athletes of the Century- click on the name highlighted in blue to read the information.

Fact Monster Biographies- click on the category that matches your person (for example, Sports Celebraties, Famous Women, etc.) and then click on his/her name.

Fact Monster- U.S. Presidents- click on the names to read the mini biographical information.

White House- President Biographies- the official White House Website that provides short biographies of each U.S. President.

Mrs. P'S Famous Americans- this website was created by a teacher to give her students websites to research specific famous Americans. Scroll down the list to see if your person is on the list. Click on the name to get to the information page.

Short Biographies-- click on the category on the right side of the page (for example, basketball player, artist, etc.).

Meet Amazing Americans- this is a site from the Library of Congress. Scroll the list to find your person and click on the name to enter the information page.

Learn About Famous Americans- this is a site from TeachersFirst.com. Click on one of the themes from the list at the top of the page and a list of names will appear (use the scroll bar to view all of the selections). Click on your person's name and a new screen will appear with a brief biography.

S9.com Biography Dictionary- use the search boxes to find your person. Type in the persons name and occupation in the appropriate boxes and click "start search". You will be brought to page listing all of the people that match your serach information. Check the information and only click on the links that pertain to your person.

Who2? Biographies- At the top of the page is an alphabet Browse Bio option. Click on the letter that matches the first letter of the last name of the person you are researching. This will bring you to another page. Scroll the page to find your person and click on his/her name.

Academy of Achievement- You will find five categories (Arts, Sports, Business, Science & Exploration, Public Service). Click on the category that matches your person and then scroll down the page to see if she/her is listed. If you locate your person's name click on the biography option under his/her picture.

SEARCH ENGINES- the links below will bring you to "student-friendly" search engines. These search engines should only be used if you are unable to locate information on the internet site listed for your research project. Please ask permission from Mrs. Potter prior to using these search engines.
